Choosing between the 2020 Ford F-150 and Nissan Titan might seem complicated at first. But our comparison guide is here to help you take a closer look at each truck. Together, we’ll help you figure out which truck best suits your daily drive.
Modern Comfort
Modern Comfort: It’s a Tie!
Both the 2020 Ford F-150 and Nissan Titan are big on passenger space and modern creature comforts. No matter which cabin option you select, both pickup trucks keep you content for the long haul. As you climb the trim levels, you’ll find more to love, including leather upholstery options and heated and cooled front seats. Both trucks also offer Wi-Fi connectivity and complete smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can tap into your favorite infotainment features while cruising in comfort.
Lifestyle Options
Lifestyle Options: 2020 Ford F-150
These days, trucks are much more than workhorses; they offer lifestyle options you won’t find anywhere else. The F-150 is the most configurable of the pair, with five engines, three body styles, and three bed lengths from which to choose. This Ford truck is also home to features you won’t find anywhere else, like the Pro Trailer Backup Assist system, which makes it easy to back a trailer in the desired direction. You can also add the multicontour front seats, which include heating, cooling, and massage functions.
The Nissan Titan is available with two body styles. Unlike the F-150, it doesn’t offer a regular cabin. You can only choose between the extended and crew cabins. Three bed lengths are available, however. Though the Titan won’t give you a massage, we do approve of its Zero Gravity front seats, which offer lasting comfort and impressive support.
Max Towing and Hauling
Max Towing and Hauling: 2020 Ford F-150
If you’ve got a lot of weight to move, the F-150 is your go-to truck. Depending on configuration and powertrain, this full-size pickup can tow up to 13,200 pounds. By comparison, the Nissan Titan tows max loads of only 9,370 pounds. If you’ve got especially big toys to tow, you’re going to need the F-150.
When it comes to hauling big payloads, the F-150 also has the edge. Depending on how it’s equipped, this Ford truck can haul up to 3,270 pounds of work gear and supplies. The Titan is less capable, maxing out at 1,696 pounds. With the Titan, you’ll be forced to make more trips to move the same amount of cargo.
Off-Road Potential
Off-Road Potential: 2020 Ford F-150
If you plan to travel the best trails that South Carolina has to offer or haul your ATV deep into the wilderness, the F-150 has you covered. Every F-150 can be equipped with four-wheel drive for fun in the dirt, mud, or snow. For even greater off-road chops, check out the F-150 Raptor. This model comes standard with everything you need for rugged adventure, from an upgraded four-wheel-drive system to all-terrain tires.
The Nissan Titan also offers a special off-road model, the Pro-4X. Though it’s not as loaded as the F-150 Raptor, it does supply standard four-wheel drive and upgraded tires. Like the Raptor, the Titan includes upgraded off-road shocks to smooth out especially rugged terrain.
The Nissan Titan has some cool new features for 2020, but the new Ford F-150 ultimately leaves it in the dust, both on-road and off. If you want to move heavy payloads or trailers, head out into rugged adventure, or simply enjoy a massage on the way home from work, the 2020 Ford F-150 is the right truck for you.
