If you can’t decide between the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport and Jeep Renegade, check out our comparison guide. We’ll help you examine each of these sporty crossovers and before the end, you’ll know which model is right for you.
Lowest Possible Price: 2021 Jeep Renegade
Shopping for the lowest possible price tag? The entry-level Renegade starts at $24,870, which may help you achieve a lower monthly payment. However, with an MSRP that starts at $26,660, the Bronco Sport isn’t much pricier. As we’ll see, the base Bronco Sport actually includes more features for your money.
Premium Performance: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport
Depending on trim level, the Bronco Sport offers two sporty engine options:
- Standard turbocharged 1.5L three-cylinder (181 hp, 190 lb-ft)
- Optional turbo 2.0L four-cylinder (250 hp, 277 lb-ft)
If you plan to frolic in the mud every weekend, you’ll be pleased to know that every Bronco Sport comes standard with four-wheel drive. Lots of off-road-ready features — like underbody skid plates, all-terrain tires, and upgraded four-wheel drive — are also available.
The 2021 Jeep Renegade also offers two engine options:
- Standard 2.4L four-cylinder (180 hp, 175 lb-ft)
- Optional turbo 1.3L four-cylinder (177 hp, 210 lb-ft)
As you can see, the Renegade doesn’t get quite as powerful as the Bronco Sport. It also doesn’t come standard with four-wheel drive, though this sporty performance gear is available as an option.
Roomy Comfort: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport
As the slightly taller, wider model, the Bronco Sport offers the roomiest cabin. It also provides more room for your stuff, with up to 32.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Not to mention, for an off-road-ready crossover, the Bronco Sport also generates a surprisingly smooth performance, boosting comfort levels all around.
Although the subcompact Renegade isn’t quite as big as the compact Bronco Sport, both rows of seating offer enough space for a comfy trip. However, taller passengers will feel more at home in the Bronco Sport. And the Renegade also doesn’t deliver quite as much cargo space, with 18.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats.
Tech Supplies: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport
Although both of these small crossovers come standard with lots of infotainment features and safety aids, we prefer the Bronco Sport’s implementation. Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system is easy to figure out, and it includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for extra smartphone integration. Standard safety aids, such as blind-spot monitoring and forward collision mitigation, alert you to situations that are dangerous without overdoing it.
The Jeep Renegade also comes standard with lots of high-tech goodies. We like its collection of standard safety aids, which also includes automatic emergency braking and blind-spot warning. However, Jeep’s base infotainment system doesn’t give you as many features as you’ll find on upper trim levels, including a high-resolution 8.4-inch touch screen.
Your Best Daily Driver
The Bronco Sport certainly offers more potential for both everyday comfort and weekend adventure. With everything the all-new Bronco Sport has to offer — from incredible off-road capabilities to a roomy, high-tech cabin — you’ll agree that it’s the best choice.
