Technical Differences
As seen from the quick specifications these are quite similar in price, capability and drivetrain setup. So what is new for the 2023 model of the Ford Escape? This year Ford upgraded the front end of the Escape to give it a bit of a wider grill and include their traditional oval shaped logo. The front bumper and front fenders have also been modified to accommodate these new features.
Probably the biggest difference that we see in the new 2023 year is Ford’s new trim lineups for the Escape. They are moving away from the well known, S, SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels to introduce such trim levels as Active, ST-Line, and Platinum trims.
Available Trims for the 2022 Lineup
2022 Ford Escape S:
The 2022 Ford Escape S level trim sports the 3 cylinder engine that puts down 181 horsepower and comes with an 8 speed automatic as well. This model comes standard in front wheel drive, however, there is also an all wheel drive option for the “S” model. The front wheel drive model starts at $27,185 and the all wheel drive model starts at $28,685. Both of these options average around 29 miles per gallon.
2022 Ford Escape SE:
The “SE” Model is quite similar to the “S” model as it comes with the 3 cylinder engine and 8 speed transmission. This model also comes in both FWD and AWD as well. The SE model comes with upgraded winter packages that offer heated seats as well as upgraded entertainment packages. The “SE” trim also offers a Hybrid option that is able to get close to 40 miles per gallon.
2022 Ford Escape SEL:
The Ford Escape SEL offers the same AWD and FWD options. The FWD drive option comes with the 1.8 liter 3 cylinder engine, whereas the AWD option offers a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower. These two options average about 30 miles per gallon. There is a Ford Escape SEL Hybrid option for this much like the “SE” Hybrid option.
2022 Ford Escape Titanium:
The Titanium model is only available in an AWD package and will feature a gas type 2.0 liter engine rather than the Hybrid model seen in the SEL Hybrid option. This Titanium model will start at $37,305. The Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid offers great gas mileage and enough room for the family!
Available Trims for the 2023 Lineup
2023 Ford Escape Base:
Starting at $27,500, the Base model of the new 2023 Ford Escape lineup will be able to provide everything you may need without going over budget! This model offers the standard packages such as Ford Co-Pilot360, which are great safety features to assist in driving!
2023 Ford Escape Active:
The “Active” model is a step above and has all the same features of the Base model. On top of this it offers dual zone climate control, as well a rotary gear shift knob that will give shifting into gear a whole new ease. The interior can also be equipped with a cold weather package that will provide heated seats for the colder months of the year!
2023 Ford Escape ST-Line:
Sporting the 1.5 EcoBoost engine in the ST-Line, this trim comes with a few upgrades from the Active Trim. There is a panoramic sunroof on this model as well as 18 inch aluminum painted machined wheels, giving the ST-Line a classy look. You can also outfit this model with cold weather packages and an engine block heater that will help to keep the engine warm during cold months.
2023 Ford Escape Platinum:
The Platinum level trim is one of the top trims for this coming year's models. With increased safety features and upgrades there will be a bit of a price increase at $36,965 for this trim level. It comes with a 360 degree camera with split view displayed on a 13.2 inch touch screen. It also comes with a 2.0 Liter Ecoboost which provides plenty of power.
2023 Ford Escape PHEV:
This is the stand alone Plug-In Hybrid of the 2023 year. Instead of each trim level offering a Hybrid option there is a single trim level to denote the newest hybrid. Connected built in navigation will provide accessible maps for this vehicle.
